'Georgian army set to invade Abkhazia'

Earlier in the week the Russian Foreign Ministry stated Georgia was increasing its military presence on the border of Abkhazia in preparation for an offensive.

"Georgia has lost Abkhazia forever": Maksim Gunjia, Abkhazia

Abkhazia is a country in the Caucasus, on the Black Sea coast, which gained independence from Georgia after a military conflict between 1992 and 1993 -- a conflict which is known in Abkhazia itself as the War of Independence. Since then, Abkhazia has remained independent but without international recognition. But possible recognition of independence of Kosovo has put this unrecognised country into the spotlight of the world media. The guest of the Spotlight Today is Abkhazia's Deputy Foreign Minister, Maksim Gunjia. (Dec., 2007)
